uses only high quality ceramic tiles that have built-in spacers for an

Tumbled Marble Tiles
Available sizes: 4" x 4" and 5.875" X 5.875"
Artisan Surfaces uses tumbled marble tiles for that rustic, handcrafted
look. These marble tiles are naturally tumbled and add a warm, old world
look to any tile mural. Marble tiles are porous and will need to be
properly sealed. When sealed, these tiles are appropriate for kitchen
backsplashes and wall mural installations.

Available sizes: 6" x 6", 8"x 8" and 12"x12"
Artisan Surfaces Glass tiles add a high gloss, contemporary look to any
tile mural. Each image is printed on the backface of the glass and that
will protect the image from any damage from abrasion or cleaning. It
also adds a stunning, sparkling dimension to any tile mural. Artisan
Surfaces Glass tiles can also be used on floors, shower and tub
enclosures, and kitchen countertops.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you reproduce artwork and photographs onto
tiles?
Artisan Surfaces uses a dye sublimation process that involves using heat
and pressure to apply colored dyes onto a specially coated tile. As it
cools and hardens, the dye is permanently absorbed into the tile. The
dye will never wash or rub off under normal use.
Is it possible to use my one of my own photographs for a multi-tile
mural?
Yes, we can reproduce any of your photos onto tile murals. We need a
high resolution image from a digital camera or scanner. We can also scan
your photos for you if required for a small fee, please inquire.
Can I resize any of the tile murals pictured on your
site?
Yes, we can digitally resize any of the images pictured in our catalog
to any size required. Each mural installation is unique and we can
resize any of our images to fit your required dimensions. Whether you
need a larger or smaller tile mural, Artisan Surfaces can help.
Are tiles ideal for outdoor environments?
Because of the nature of the pigments used in the production of the
tiles, they are recommended for use in indoor environments or in shaded
outdoor areas. When exposed to high levels of UV light, certain colors
may lose their full vibrancy over time.
How long will it take to receive my custom mural order?
You should receive your tile order within 14 days after placing your
order. Allow longer delivery times for orders shipped to the east coast.
Installing Tiles:
Grout: Sand-free grout should be used when installing Artisan
Surfaces multi-tile murals. Use a grout float with a soft rubber face to
spread grout over tiles and wipe the excess with a damp, soft cloth.
Sealers:
Seal the grout lines with a penetrating sealer such as TileLab 4Care
Penetrating Sealer, Grout & Tile Sealer by Custom Building Products
available at most hardware stores. Avoid using sealers with high
gloss or a built-in finish.
For tumbled marble tiles, you would apply the sealer to tile surface and
grout lines to avoid water damage.

FINISH CERAMIC TILE
DESCRIPTION: Gloss
ceramic tile
provides a brilliant canvas for best artwork and photo
reproduction. Susceptible to scratches, it is not recommended
for surfaces that require frequent cleaning. Best used for
decorative purposes (walls, pictures, etc.) These tiles are
treated with UV inhibitors to resist fading due to UV rays
present in indirect sunlight.
GROUT: Un-sanded
grout only!
CLEANING:Tiles can be cleaned
with any household non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or
sponge.
MATTE FINISH CERAMIC TILE
DESCRIPTION: A highly resilient and
scratch resistant matte finish wall tile. Recommended for vivid
photo/art reproduction.
You may use any commercially available adhesive for ceramic
tile. These tiles may be used for outside installations only
where freeze/thaw is not a factor. These
tiles are treated with UV inhibitors to resist fading due to UV
rays present in indirect sunlight.
GROUT: We
recommend un-sanded grout.
CLEANING:
Tiles can be cleaned with any household non-abrasive cleaner and

TUMBLED MARBLE TILE
DESCRIPTION:
A flat stone
finish that presents any art or image in an old-world fashion.
The tiles must be sealed if used in a water application such as
a shower or countertop.
Each tile is individually cut, causing some variation in color,
texture, size and thickness. You may find chipped edges and
corners missing on various tiles.
These tiles
are also treated with UV inhibitors to resist fading due to UV
rays present in indirect sunlight.
GROUT: We
recommend un-sanded grout.

PORCELAIN TUMBLED TILE
DESCRIPTION:This
Porcelain tile has an "Old World" look to it
with a gloss finish. It is a non-porous tile, impervious
to freeze/thaw conditions. Recommended for all water
applications. You may use standard adhesive recommended for
porcelain tile. Polymer coating with
UV inhibitors
to resist fading due to UV rays present in indirect sunlight .

DESCRIPTION:
This
Porcelain tile is an off white tile that generates a more muted
or artistic color reproduction.It is

adhesive recommended for porcelain tile.
GROUT:
Sanded or un-sanded grout may be used.

TEMPERED GLASS TILE
DESCRIPTION:
Custom manufactured for Artisan Surfaces,
these Textured glass tiles are the first
dye-sublimation tiles to meet and exceed ASTM tests set forth by
ANSI standards for commercial and residential floor, wall and
pool applications. Images are applied to the backside of the
glass to protect the dyes from wear and abrasion.
Tempered glass tiles cannot be cut.
We only recommend MegaFlex Ultimate Thin-Set Mortar in White for
mounting the textured glass tile in any application.
Manufactured by Custom Building Products (www.custombuildingproducts.com),
this adhesive should be readily available in most areas, and has
exhibited superior bond strength without damaging the white
backing on the tiles.
GROUT:
You should use a grout specifically formulated for use with
glass tile.
